Queen’s bath is an ornate bathing chamber or pool used by the king and his wives. This is the first ruined structure you would see when you enter into the Royal center from the Kamalapura-Hampi main road.
Built in the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture, the structure looks plain from outside but intricately designed on the inside. The private pool is 6 feet deep and has steps leading to its bottom. The pool is surrounded by long corridors and the balconies project into the pool. The pool is open to sky and has no roof.
Each balcony has a set of three beautifully carved windows decorated with lotus bud tipped brackets, another characteristic feature of the Vijayanagara style of architecture.
The corridors around the pool is covered by domes that are carved from the inside.
You can also see channels to supply fresh water to the pool and moat.
